Local events hosted by NZSTI branches around the country and open to everyone
NZSTI has three local branches: Auckland, Wellington and Canterbury (Christchurch). These branches play a key role in serving our members in those areas by organising local in-person events throughout the year (presentations, social events, and more). These provide an opportunity for NZSTI members to come together, discuss industry-related issues and questions, and connect with colleagues.
While most branch events are for members only, the branches also organise events open to non-members, which offer a great opportunity for T&I professionals and students to discover NZSTI and meet others working in the industry.

Everyone needs a break from the digital world, especially with so much uncertainty around what AI will ultimately mean for our profession. Join us for a friendly coffee and chat with fellow translators and interpreters. It’s a relaxed chance to connect, share experiences, and enjoy the company of others who get it.
We’ll treat you to a coffee (or your drink of choice), so bring your questions, stories, and ideas—or just come to listen and enjoy. Know someone in the industry who isn’t an NZSTI member yet? Bring them along too—we’d love to meet them!
This catch-up is also a great opportunity to start building energy for our 2025 NZSTI Conference in September. Let’s keep the community strong, inspired, and connected—because no matter what tools we use, human connection is still at the heart of what we do.
