Revision is an important part of the translation process, whether we are revising our own translation or an already translated text. With the increasing use of CAT tools and MT, translation and revision have become even more inextricably linked. Improving our revision skills will not only result in a better translation but can also open up more work opportunities.
In this 90-min webinar, Diana will introduce the basics of revision, the careful reading and checking of your own translation or that of others. Drawing on her training and her experience of working as a translator, revisor and editor, Diana will discuss revision procedures to find and correct idiomatic, factual and typographical errors and improve the accuracy, coherence and style of the translated text. She will look at the difference between self-revision and other-revision and share resources she has found particularly helpful.
While this webinar will focus on the revision of English texts, many of the processes and tips can be applied when working into languages other than English.
This is a live event only. To attend, you must register by 11.59 pm on Tuesday 27 June and you will receive the Zoom link on Wednesday, 28 June.
All registered participants will receive the supporting slides by email after the event.
