NAATI recertification points: 10

In 2018, NAATI rolled out its current Certification System which introduced innovations such as live dialogues, assessment rubrics and specialist interpreting tests. Six years on, NAATI is testing in 65 languages at its first level of interpreting test, bringing NAATI a little bit closer to realising its vision – a connected community without language barriers.

Since its launch, the Certification System has continued to evolve and mature. In 2020, NAATI introduced online testing. In 2021, NAATI launched its Continuous Improvement Program – a data-driven exercise which aims at refining NAATI’s non-specialist certification tests. In 2023, changes to the Ethical Competency and Specialist Knowledge tests were introduced.

This presentation will provide an overview of NAATI’s recent innovations around test preparation, test delivery and system refinements. This presentation will cover the interpreting and translation tests offered by NAATI.
