Local events hosted by NZSTI branches around the country and open to everyone
NZSTI has three local branches: Auckland, Wellington and Canterbury (Christchurch). These branches play a key role in serving our members in those areas by organising local in-person events throughout the year (presentations, social events, and more). These provide an opportunity for NZSTI members to come together, discuss industry-related issues and questions, and connect with colleagues.
While most branch events are for members only, the branches also organise events open to non-members, which offer a great opportunity for T&I professionals and students to discover NZSTI and meet others working in the industry.

Once again, due to COVID-19, our branch AGM will be held online. Join us via Zoom to hear the annual reports and elect branch officers and committee members for the coming year. View or download the agenda here and the minutes from last year’s AGM here. If you have any items to raise under ‘Other Business’, please email auckland@nzsti.org by 30 September 2021.
Following the AGM, we will be joined by our guest speaker, Alison Rodriguez. Alison represents NZSTI on the Council of the International Federation of Translators (FIT) where she is vice-president. A linguist with a background in legal/technical fields and creative design, she advocates for the importance of language access, inclusion and diversity. She coordinated the recent FIT Strategic Plan ‘Building a Sustainable Profession’ and regularly presents at the annual NZSTI Conference.
