Entitlement note holders are subsidised by MBIE to register for a maximum of two CPI test preparation workshops free of charge.
By booking ONE workshop, you are registering for the two half-day sessions. Please only register for ONE workshop that is relevant to your test language.
Register for a NAATI Certified Provisional Interpreter test preparation workshop to find out what to expect during the test and to brush up on the skills you will be tested on. These are online workshops that are split into two half-day sessions of four hours each. Participants need to attend both sessions to complete the workshop. Each session will cover the following:
PART 1
- Information about CPI testing, such as format, topics and demonstrations.
- CPI marking and expectations of performance
PART 2
- Managing interaction
- Practice interpreting role-plays and feedback
These workshops are aimed at people who have met the minimum training required by NAATI and who are therefore eligible to sit for a NAATI test. If you still need qualifications in order to be eligible to sit the CPI test, complete those qualifications first.
We will be regularly running these CPI test preparation workshops throughout the year.
These workshops are designed to support interpreters in achieving the new certification requirement, meaning that those who have received an entitlement note from MBIE may attend this workshop free of charge. You must upload your entitlement note to your NZSTI profile (first create a profile if you are not yet a member) before registering for the event in order to be able to attend free of charge.
There is a maximum of 21 participants per workshop. Due to the limited numbers, preference will be given to interpreters holding an entitlement note and who have their tests booked for 2022.
The zoom link and all relevant information will be emailed to you prior to the first workshop. Please ensure you check your spam folder if you have not received that email. If you cannot see the email in your inbox or spam folder, please email info@nzsti.org (weekdays only) for assistance.
