Join us for an insightful training session that aims to enhance your awareness and understanding of the diverse experiences and identities within the LGBTIQA+ community. The session will also equip you with the necessary knowledge and tools to provide accurate and respectful translation and interpreting services when working with LGBTIQA+ communities.
This training will cover:
- An overview of gender-responsive communication;
- Respectful and accurate LGBTIQA+ terminology;
- Sensitive use of language for affirming communication on issues relating to LGBTIQA+ communities;
- Safety practices to foster respect towards the LGBTIQA+ community;
- Practical real-world scenarios of LGBTIQA+ community members accessing translation and interpreter services;
- Tools and resources to further support you.
'Lost In Translation’ is delivered through AUSIT’s partnership with ACON. The delivery of this training has also been funded through Multicultural NSW’s Stronger Together Grants Program.
