Local events hosted by NZSTI branches around the country and open to everyone
NZSTI has three local branches: Auckland, Wellington and Canterbury (Christchurch). These branches play a key role in serving our members in those areas by organising local in-person events throughout the year (presentations, social events, and more). These provide an opportunity for NZSTI members to come together, discuss industry-related issues and questions, and connect with colleagues.
While most branch events are for members only, the branches also organise events open to non-members, which offer a great opportunity for T&I professionals and students to discover NZSTI and meet others working in the industry.

Coffee & Chat events are a popular feature on the calendar of NZSTI branches nationwide, and we’re pleased to invite you to join us for a Canterbury Branch edition at 10.00 am on Sunday 4 May, at the Scoundrel Bar & Eatery (375 St Asaph Street). On-site parking is limited, so please park on St Asaph or nearby streets.
This event is perfect for socialising, connecting and networking with colleagues, but if you want to talk shop, debate industry-related issues and ask your questions, that’s ok too. It’s also a great opportunity to meet the members of the Branch Committee and chat to us about any ideas you have for future branch activities.
You are welcome to bring along friends who are not members but work as interpreters or translators, or who would like to join the profession.
