This webinar is aimed at translation practitioners who are also considering starting a teaching career.
In the webinar, the following topics will be covered:
1. Theoretical framework for translation pedagogy
2. Practical exercises for students from a pedagogical perspective
3. Preparing students for practice and for their certification test
The webinar is designed to present an introductory walk-through for experienced translators intending to become translation teachers.
Biography - Magdalena Rowan
Magdalena Rowan is a NAATI-certified interpreter in Spanish and an English < --> Spanish NAATI-Certified Translator. Magdalena has been a practitioner and educator for over 30 years.
She has taught translation at Flinders University, interpreting at Macquarie University (online) and is a senior lecturer at TafeSA Interpreting and Translating. She was also involved, as a consultant, in the development of the NAATI Certification system, test design and the NAATI Continuous Improvement Process.
She is a practicing interpreter and translator and has designed and delivered interpreting and translation qualifications and short professional development courses, face-to-face and online, for TafeSA, AUSIT and NAATI both in Australia and New Zealand.
