Approximately every five years, Waka Kotahi (NZTA) approves/reapproves translators to produce driver licence translations for use in New Zealand. You must be an NZSTI full member or affiliate (translation) in order to apply to become an approved translator.  

Waka Kotahi has advised NZSTI that its approval/reapproval process for approved translators is now open. Attached is the notice from Waka Kotahi with details on how to apply for approval/reapproval. You will need to register by completing the forms on its website and emailing them to [email protected] (the new centralised email address for all Waka Kotahi-related queries from translators). Applications close at 5 pm on 18 October 2022.
