If you hold a valid current entitlement note, you may register for one CPI workshop. Once you have done that workshop, you may register for a second (subject to availability).
By booking ONE workshop, you are registering for the two half-day sessions.
Workshop dates listed below.
Register for a NAATI Certified Provisional Interpreter test preparation workshop to find out what to expect during the test and to brush up on the skills you will be tested on. These are online workshops that are split into two half-day sessions of four hours each. Participants need to attend both sessions to complete the workshop. Each session will cover the following:
PART 1
- Information about CPI testing, such as format, topics and demonstrations.
- CPI marking and expectations of performance
PART 2
- Managing interaction
- Practice interpreting role-plays and feedback
These workshops are aimed at people who have met the minimum training required by NAATI and who are therefore eligible to sit a NAATI CPI test.
Make sure you have an NZSTI account (create one if you are not already a member). You need to upload your entitlement note to that account and enter your NAATI number. Once you have done that, ensure you are logged into your account before you register for the workshop in order to receive the entitlement note holder price (free of charge). Your entitlement to funding will be verified and your place on the workshop confirmed closer to the date.
There is a maximum of 21 participants per workshop. Due to the limited numbers, preference will be given to interpreters who hold a valid current entitlement note.
If you do not have a valid entitlement note and wish to be waitlisted for an event, please email [email protected] and advise which date you want to attend. We will advise 1-2 weeks prior to the workshop if there are any spaces available.
The zoom link and all relevant information will be emailed to you prior to the first workshop. Please ensure you check your spam folder if you have not received that email. If you cannot see the email in your inbox or spam folder, please email [email protected] (weekdays only) for assistance.
