Local events hosted by NZSTI and open to everyone
NZSTI has three local branches: Auckland, Wellington and Canterbury (Christchurch). These branches play a key role in serving our members in those areas by organising local in-person events throughout the year (presentations, social events, and more). These provide an opportunity for NZSTI members to come together, discuss industry-related issues and questions, and connect with colleagues.
While most branch events are for members only, the branches also organise events open to non-members, which offer a great opportunity for T&I professionals and students to discover NZSTI and meet others working in the industry.

Are you arriving in Christchurch on Friday evening? Looking for an opportunity to meet fellow delegates before the conference begins?
Join us for the Friday Quiz Night, a relaxed pre-conference gathering designed to help attendees connect, unwind, and start the weekend with good company.
Hosted at Bentley's in Haere-roa on the University of Canterbury campus, this event will feature a fun linguists' quiz with questions covering languages, translation, interpreting, culture, and a few surprises along the way. No need to organise a team in advance. Teams will be formed on the night, making it easy to meet new people and build connections with other delegates.
Whether you're attending your first NZSTI Conference or returning to catch up with friends and colleagues, this event provides a welcoming way to begin the weekend. Your registration includes one complimentary drink and a selection of shared platters and nibbles.
As the venue has limited capacity, we ask that you register in advance so we can confirm numbers for catering and seating.
The venue is located at Bentley's, Level 2, Haere-roa, University of Canterbury, 90 Ilam Road.
