10 NAATI recertification points - applicable to the Ethics sub-category

Following excellent feedback from her first webinar in November, we’re pleased to welcome Spanish legal interpreter Laura Monzon-Storey back for a follow-up session. Building on her previous presentation, which covered the fundamentals of court interpreting, Laura will revisit key points and introduce new practical insights to help you navigate the complexities of working in legal settings. This interactive session is divided into three key areas:

  1. Addressing outstanding questions: We’ll revisit any questions from the previous event, allowing attendees to share thoughts and ask for clarification.
  2. Intervention in legal settings: We’ll explore the unique challenges of interpreter intervention in legal settings, highlighting how these differ from other environments, and discuss strategies for success in courtrooms.
  3. Real-life scenarios: We’ll discuss real-life experiences from the field and share strategies for staying in the interpreter role before, during, and after assignments.

This webinar is designed to be an interactive session to welcome open discussion and the sharing of experiences. Participants are encouraged to engage and share insights, benefiting from the collective knowledge of their peers and Laura’s extensive experience in legal interpreting.

Everyone is welcome to join the conversation – while attendance at the earlier webinar and conference may be helpful, it is not a requirement for participating in the discussions.

This event is open to all and eligible for 10 NAATI recertification points. This webinar also qualifies as an ethics event, offering valuable professional development for those seeking to meet their annual recertification requirements.

You can join us live or watch the recording at a later date. Please note that the recording will only be provided to registered participants.

The Zoom link will be sent to registered participants one day before the event. If you have not received the link, please email info@nzsti.org for assistance (during business hours on weekdays only). Please check your spam email first.

Registration for this event will close at 11.59 pm on Monday, 21 April 2025
