10 NAATI recertification points
Have you ever wondered what actually makes a good professional website? Or felt unsure where to start when building or updating your own site?
A clear, well-structured website can play a powerful role in how translators and interpreters present themselves, attract work, and build professional credibility. Yet many practitioners feel overwhelmed by the technical side of website building, branding decisions, or marketing language.
In this practical webinar, Caitlin Taylor-Maddock, NZSTI’s Marketing and Events Manager, will walk through how to plan, structure, and build a personal professional website, with a focus on clarity, usability, and self-promotion that feels authentic rather than sales-driven. The session will cover how to lay out key pages, what information matters most for potential clients, and common mistakes to avoid.
Caitlin will compare three beginner-friendly website platforms that use drag-and-drop builders, including Wix, Squarespace, and WordPress.com, outlining the benefits, limitations, and best use cases for each. She will also share quick, low-effort marketing tips to strengthen your personal brand, improve how your website communicates trust and professionalism, and make it easier for clients to understand your services.
This webinar is relevant for translators, interpreters, students, and emerging practitioners at any stage, whether you are building your first website, refreshing an existing one, or simply wanting to improve how you present yourself online. Attendees will leave with practical tools, clearer direction, and confidence to take the next step with their website and personal branding.
