This PD is based on real-life examples experienced by translators, consumers of translation services and agencies employing freelance translators. The focus will be on the actions of the translator and how these reflect ethical practice. Translators registering for this PD will be able to submit dilemmas or challenging situations that they have experienced themselves three weeks ahead of the PD. These may be featured in the discussion on what is optimal ethical practice. These need to be submitted by Saturday 10 August 2024.

Pre-requisite for registration: Familiarity with the AUSIT Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct, including the section ‘Conduct issues specific to translators’.

Please submit your dilemmas or challenging situations here.
