Providing a safe, respectful and accountable service is part of our duty of care as translators and interpreters, yet sometimes a lack of awareness or exposure, cultural biases, and religious beliefs may strongly influence our practice, resulting in poor delivery when working with multicultural and multi-faith communities.

In an exploratory tone and using both professional and personal narratives, this presentation aims to discuss our ideas of professional allyship while looking into examples of its practice in context and addressing the importance of providing a culturally-relevant T&I service.

This is a unique opportunity to reflect on your own practice and gain practical insights that can enhance your professional journey.

You can join us live or watch the recording at a later date. Either way, you won’t want to miss Candela’s invaluable perspectives on this important topic. Please note: the recording will only be provided to registered participants.

The Zoom link will be sent to registered participants one day before the event. If you have not received the email with the link, please check your spam folder before emailing info@nzsti.org for assistance (during business hours on weekdays only).

Registration for this event will close at 11.59 pm on Thursday, 5 December 2024.
